Enameled Copper Clad Aluminum Wire

  The core requirement of high-frequency chokes (such as those in switching power supplies and inverters) is to suppress high-frequency AC components (usually above 10kHz), where the current is mainly concentrated on the surface of the conductor due to skin effect. The pure copper layer on the outer layer of enameled copper-clad aluminum wire (accounting for 5% -15% of the cross-section) can efficiently carry high-frequency current, and its high-frequency resistance characteristics are close to pure copper wire. The presence of aluminum core further reduces the weight and cost of the coil.

  Application scenarios:

  The input/output choke in switch mode power supplies (such as DC-DC converters) is used to filter out high-frequency ripple.

  The signal choke coil in communication equipment suppresses high-frequency interference signals.

  Advantages:

  Low high-frequency loss: At a frequency of 1MHz, its high-frequency resistance is 30% -40% lower than pure aluminum wire, close to the level of pure copper wire, ensuring the filtering efficiency of the choke coil.

  Lightweight: Under the same wire diameter, it is 40% -60% lighter than pure copper wire, suitable for miniaturized devices such as laptop power supplies and portable inverters.
