High frequency Litz Wire is made up of multiple insulated single wires twisted together, typically used for applications with operating frequencies between 10 kHz and 5 MHz. In the application of magnetic energy storage coils, high frequencies will generate eddy current losses. The root cause of these losses is the skin effect and proximity effect, which can be reduced by using high-frequency Litz Wire. These losses caused by magnetic fields can be overcome through the twisted structure of Litz Wire.
Due to the fact that the interior of the Litz Wire is formed by twisting multiple fine wires together, compared to a single wire, twisted wires have stronger conductivity, more stable current transmission, reduced resistance and losses.
