UE: Polyurethane
EI: Polyesterimide
AI: polyamideimide
PI: Polyimide
5. Self-bonding Film
Hot air self-bonding: Hot air is to achieve self-bonding effect by blowing hot air on the wire during the winding process. The temperature of the hot air at the winding is usually between 120ºC-230ºC
Power-on self-bonding: Electric self-bonding is achieved by electric current (resistive heating). The required amperage depends on the shape and size of the coil. Power-on self-bonding is recommended for products with wire diameter above 0.10mm (38AWG)
Oven self-bonding: Oven self-bonding is achieved by placing the finished coil in an oven to heat it to achieve self-adhesive effect. In order to achieve uniform heating of the coil, according to the shape and size of the coil, the temperature of the oven usually needs to be between 120 ° C and 220 ° C, and the required time varies from 5 to 30 minutes.
Alcohol self-bonding: The self-bonding effect is achieved by adding an appropriate solvent (such as industrial alcohol) to the wire during the winding process. The recommended solvent is ethanol or methanol.

In addition, the coil needs to maintain a certain shape during use, which requires that the bonding strength of the coil does not decrease with time in different environments. In the winding process of the winding machine, especially for fine magnet wire below 0.1mm, the phenomenon of scattered, stacked and loose wires often occurs. The factors affecting the winding quality are mainly from enameled wire, winding machine equipment and tooling. Consider several aspects.
When the self-adhesive enameled wire is being wound, it also needs to be heated (usually heated by hot air) to make it secondary polymerize and solidify deeply, so as to achieve the purpose of firm bonding. When curing, the curing temperature and curing time recommended by the manufacturer should be referred to. If the temperature is too low or the curing time is insufficient and the curing reaction is insufficient, the polymerization reaction of the self-adhesive paint is not enough, and the degree of cross-linking is low, which affects the intermolecular properties of the self-adhesive paint. When the temperature is too high, the self-adhesive paint is over-cured, and its polymerization reaction tends to end. The cross-linked molecules are destroyed, reducing the bond strength. During the test process when the heating temperature is too high, the specific performance is that the sample is filmed and the adhesive force is reduced. Therefore, controlling the curing process of self-adhesive paint is the key to the successful production of self-adhesive enameled wire.
In the actual winding process of the winding machine, the hot air temperature is related to the ambient temperature, and there is often a gap between the set temperature and the actual outlet temperature. A temperature sensor can be used to measure the air outlet temperature in real time to prevent the hot air temperature from being too high or too low.
