Enameled Copper Clad Aluminum Wire

  The high-frequency characteristics of inductors are closely related to the skin effect of coils: high-frequency currents mainly flow through the surface of conductors, while the pure copper layer on the outer layer of enameled copper clad aluminum wire(usually accounting for 5% -10% of the cross-section) can directly carry high-frequency currents, and its conductivity is close to that of pure copper wire, which can effectively reduce high-frequency resistance losses.

  Application scenario: Commonly used in high-frequency inductors (such as high-frequency chokes in switching power supplies and high-frequency filtering inductors in audio equipment), its high-frequency loss is 40% -50% lower than pure aluminum wire at frequencies above 1MHz, approaching the level of pure copper wire.

  Advantages: Compared to pure copper wire, enameled copper clad aluminum wire with the same diameter is about 40% -60% lighter in weight, which can reduce the parasitic capacitance and eddy current loss of the coil, and improve the high-frequency Q value (quality factor) of the inductor.
